Produced in limited quantities from 1934 to 1936, the MG N-type Magnette models provided a blend of enhanced power and luxurious features, setting them apart from the company’s four-cylinder “Midgets” while still embodying the pure styling and spirited driving dynamics that MG was renowned for.
Positioned as a niche offering between the Midgets and the upcoming larger SA model, these delightful cars were never intended to achieve high sales figures. It is estimated that only a total of 745 N-type Magnettes were manufactured, with a mere 98 of them being NB Two-Seaters.
The N-type Magnettes derived their power from an upgraded version of the inline six-cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft, originally found in the MG K-Type. Through an extensive range of modifications and refinements, the engine’s output was officially stated as 56 horsepower.
