A one-off that was the final in series of show cars created by coachbuilders Hooper & Co under the direction of Lady Docker, wife of Sir Bernard Docker who was chairman of Daimler’s parent company BSA. Lady Docker had been appointed a director of Hooper’s, with special responsibility for styling matters, and set about transforming Daimler’s staid image into something more exciting. The Golden Zebra was finished in ivory-white, with gold-plated trim. Gold plate is used throughout the interior with real ivory on the instrument panel and zebra skin upholstery for the seats and the doors.
